Number 4: Treasure, Oil and Water

Treasure is rarely found on the surface. It often involves digging and researching.

Who has time for doing that these days with our busy lives, right?

Jesus said, 'If you seek, you will find'.

Those who find it though feel refreshed, rejuvenated and invigorated. Joy immeasurable and deep satisfaction wells up within their souls, and they rejoice greatly. The hardships they endured along the way are far from their thoughts!

Sometimes we fall into the trap of just barely surviving, and we live our lives 'getting by' and life's journey seems a hard slog. Then, when something happens adversely, we don't fare so well because we are running on an empty or low tank! Or when our friends need us, we feel like we have nothing to give.

I am challenged by the parable of the foolish virgins, who found that they had very little oil in their lamps, and I wonder if I am like them sometimes. If we are thirsty (feeling dry), it is us that must drink from the living waters God has provided.

It is imperative that we immerse ourselves in God's word, and in time spent with Him in prayer. Here we will find renewed energy, to keep running the race, and the right fuel for our spirit!

Til next time...Cheers!

Number 3.

A Challenge for you and me!

Most have heard about the Book of Life. There are in fact many books that are mentioned within the pages of the Bible, like the book of Moses etc.

But the other day, I came across a book that also includes you and I - or has the potential anyway!

The book is found in Malachi 3 verse 16.

It is, The book of Remembrance!

God honours them that honour Him. What better way to record the things we say and do about/with/in Him, except in a Book of Remembrance.

Our thoughts, our words and our declarations are important to God.

Hmm…I wonder how many chapters we will have…hopefully more than a paragraph, or a sentence!

Number 2:

1 Corinthians 13:11
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Growing up in our society, often a form of disciplinary measure was to be told to go sit in the corner - be isolated from others, or we were commanded to sit still and not speak etc. Though good and necessary at the time, this actually taught us to isolate ourselves and to avoid contact when we had done something wrong and to not discuss it.

As adults, we can still, subconsciously look at things this way.

This however, is the opposite of how God wants us to act. Instead of ignoring or avoiding Him, he wants us to run to Him, even when we do things wrong. He wants us to talk to Him about it and receive His love and forgiveness, wisdom and guidance concerning whatever we are facing.

God is a God of Reconciliations. Amen!

Number 1.

Number 1:

A key to Deeper connection with God in Worship:

Our songs to God, at times - unintentionally - can cause a degree or two of separation to occur between us and Him. We sing "He did/is/has" etc, and the result is that we end up singing about God, instead of to Him.

If we simply change the words to "You are/have", then the worship becomes instantly more personal and directed at God, and when we concentrate on God at the same time as singing these words, it helps us to make a closer connection with Him, and as a result we can worship and praise Him more deeply.

Try it out for yourselves - it really does work!

Welcome to my Blog!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my Blog!

From time to time, while reading the scriptures, insights happen. And it is these insights that I would like to share with you.

Matthew 13:52
Then said He unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasures things new and old.

I hope that you find these snippets of God's love and revelation inspiring.

I would also like your feedback on what I write as well. We are all on a learning curve and I value your opinions.

Blessings, Shoni
